Who we areFineTech is the developer and owner of the proprietary and ground-breaking InverSep® technology to recover ultra-fine minerals, including chromite particles. Operating since March 2020, FineTech’s Management Team bring to market a unique mineral recovery technology, which is set to revolutionise the extractive sector through the recovery of ultra-fine oxide minerals, with an proven recovery of Chromite at industrial scale.
FineTech offers an unrivalled opportunity for resource owners to be able to recover their ultra fine materials in partnership with the team who perfected the InverSep® process.
Our current offerings include a fully turn-key solution which can be used for current arising tailings and historic tailings.
FineTech commissioned the Rietfontein Plant, its first commercial scale plant in December 2021 to recover, previously unrecoverable, ultra-fine (<106 µm) chromite particles from LG6 tailings. The plant is a small modular 20tph commercial-scale plant.

FineTech’s proprietary technology targets the ultra-fine fraction that conventional plants cannot. The patented BerthaSep® separator, designed for selective recovery of particles under 106 microns, consistently delivers chromite recoveries above 75%. These modular, plug-and-play plants operate alongside host facilities, requiring no additional feed or excavation — only slurry, water, and power. The result: new revenue streams at no capital cost to the resource owner, plus reduced environmental footprint and rehabilitation liability.
